Hilda Jean Hasty, age 84 of Estill Springs, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. A native of Franklin County, she was born on August 4, 1938, to the late Oliver Edison and Zelma Irene (Arnold) Benson. Before her retirement, she had been employed in the banking industry. She enjoyed sewing and had worked as a seamstress in her younger years. In her spare time, Jean enjoyed working in her flower gardens, singing, fishing, and camping with her husband, especially to Gatlinburg and Florida. She was a dedicated member of Riva Lake Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and occasionally was the song leader. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Austin Benson and an infant brother; son, Bobby Douglas Hasty; son-in-law Robby Gass; and brother-in -law, Hal A. Bradford. Jean is survived by her loving husband of over sixty-four years, Bobby Hasty; children, Jeanene Tobitt (Danny), and Teresa Fontaine (Tony); grandchildren, Philip Pendleton, Erin Clark, and Amanda Buckner; great-grandchildren, Laars Pendleton, Daegan Pendleton, Cameron Gilliam, Caydon Bradford, Coralynn Clark, Caden Clark, Adrianna Buckner, and Kendyl Buckner; and sister, Corene Bradford. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Billy Hasty, Cameron Gilliam, Caydon Bradford, Laars Pendleton, Jeff Farris, and Dwight Modesitt serving as pallbearers.
