Nona Swanson Mullen, 87, passed away Sunday, April 30th, 2023 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. Nona enjoyed traveling, walking on the beach with her husband, Bernie, playing basketball, and playing cards with her family every Thursday. She is survived by her husband, Bernard “Bernie” Mullen of Ecru, MS; one daughter, Brenda Mullen of Lincoln, NE; grandson, Brandon Bagby and wife, Melissa of Portland, OR; granddaughter, Kerstin Bagby of Lincoln, NE; great-grandaughter, Ruby of Portland, OR; four sisters, Dorothy Cox, Linda Hayles, Glenda Moore-Kelly, Marilyn Holladay all of Pontotoc, MS; three brothers, Rayburn of Pontotoc, Jimmy of Endville, Larry and Kathy of Bruce.
She was preceded in death by her son, John Mullen of McCook, NE; her parents, Earlie and Ludie Swanson; brothers, Marlin, Curtis, L.V., Earnest, Richard; sisters, Estmer Coleman, Vera McKnight, Frances Williams, Kathleen Moore, Faye James, Leuvenia Purdon, Norma Lauer.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in McCook, NE. Donations made in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
