Mrs. Martha Roberts McCormick, age 88, of McMinnville, TN, died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at her residence. She was born February 21, 1935, in McMinnville, TN, and loved to read, fish, and spend time with family and playing cards. Martha graduated from Central High School with the class of 1953 and retired from B & P Lamp Supply as a decorator. She was the daughter of the late Pope and Ruth Moffitt Roberts. She was married to Morris Edward McCormick in 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1988. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother William “Bill” Roberts, sister Sara Roberts Grissom, and brothers-in-law Edward Clark, Howard Grissom, and Walter “Bud” Grissom.
She is survived by her two daughters Janet (Terry) Rhea and Rhonda McCormick, one granddaughter Ashley Teralyn Rhea (Edwin), sisters Marjorie Roberts Clark and Jimmie Roberts Grissom, and honorary daughter Dorinda Watts. Several nieces, nephews, and family friends also survive.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 28, 2023 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Ronnie Powell will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
