Mr. Philip Wayne Anderson, 64, died Sunday, April 23, 2023 at North MS Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born September 29, 1958 in Tupelo, MS, to Billy Wayne Anderson and Margie Ann Scruggs Anderson. Philip was a 1977 graduate of Tupelo High School. He married Penny Gail Wooley of Union County, MS. He worked in the automobile industry as a car salesman for many years and in his spare time enjoyed playing cards and watching television, especially Gunsmoke and Bananza. During his younger years he enjoyed boating. He loved his family and his special furry friend, Poppy. He attended The Orchard.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 1 PM, Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel with Bro. Will Rambo officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 noon to service time at the funeral home.
Survivors include Philip’s wife, Penny Anderson of Tupelo; two sons, Ray Priest (Sara) of Flowood and Matt Anderson (Sarah) of Tupelo; his brother, Mark Anderson of Tupelo and sister, Tina Anderson of Saltillo; grandchildren, Maya Anderson, Emma Kate Anderson, Macy Anderson, and Aven Priest. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Alex Thompson, Jonathan Rahmel, Jackie Parker, Jason Holloway, Dustin Freeman, Tucker Parker, Jaxon Brady, and Connor Anderson.
