William Joseph “Buddy” Griffin, DMD, 90, passed away on April 1, 2023. Buddy was preceded in death by his father, Louie Lecil Griffin; his mother, Josephine Griffin Rose; and his brothers, Bobby Gerald Griffin and David Graham Griffin.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Janis Link Griffin and her son, Brandon Heath Marks. Additionally, he is survived by his five children from his first marriage to the late Ann Bishop Griffin, Barbara Ann Griffin, Karen Griffin Hollon (husband, Rand), William J. Griffin, Jr. (wife, Beth), Michael David Griffin, and Elizabeth Griffin Henson; his seven grandchildren, William “Bill” Hollon (wife, Dana), Samuel Hollon (wife, Kimberly), Valerie Turner (husband, Joe), Kathryn “Kate” Diane Griffin, William “Will” Joseph Griffin III, Lewis Turner Henson, and Breanna Louise Henson; and his brother, Charles Reginald Griffin.

Originally from Pell City, Buddy served in the military after completing high school. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Alabama as well as his Doctorate of Dental Medicine and MSD in Orthodontics. He moved to Huntsville in 1964 to pursue his career in orthodontics and he practiced there for over 50 years, giving beautiful smiles to generations of patients. He will be dearly missed.

A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, at Maple Hill Cemetery.
