Cailey Charyn Still of Huntsville, Alabama entered the Kingdom of Heaven on March 30, 2023 to be welcomed by the loving arms of our Lord God. She was in the arms of her parents as the sun was setting and went peacefully in her sleep. Angels come into our lives for a reason, and we are blessed to have had Cailey as our Angel for 18 years. Cailey was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on June 24, 2004, to Jeffrey Still and Michelle Still.
Cailey touched the lives of all that knew her and didn’t know her. Despite the many medical obstacles she faced, she was always happy. Cailey had the most radiant, angelic smile one could ever imagine. If she wasn’t happy, she was certainly cold! Cailey was non-verbal, but through God she communicated so eloquently to what she needed. Cailey loved spending time in her parents’ arms, watching movies with her sister, and spending time with her vivacious MiMi who loved her beyond words. Cailey led a beautiful life, despite her inability to walk or talk.
From an early age Jeff and Michelle ensured nothing would stop them from living their best life possible with Cailey. They vacationed with Cailey constantly for most of her life. She enjoyed traveling to visit her grandparents, aunts, and uncles almost every spring and summer break. She enjoyed being in the pool, theme parks, Adaptive Skiing, kayaking, Equi-Kids therapeutic horseback riding, the zoo, and participating in half-marathons and short-distance races with her parents pushing her across the finish line. Cailey loved anything that was outside under the warm sunshine.
Cailey was blessed to have dedicated nurses that loved and cared for her as if she were their own. She loved sitting on the porch with them as they read books, sang songs, splashed in the pool with her, throwing toys for her dogs- Belle and Nala, and going for long walks. We will forever be indebted to Amy, Marcy, Rosetta, Kwana, Katie, Kim, and Jackie for their loving spirits and dedication that they brought with them to our home each day.
Cailey was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Charyn Still. She is survived by her parents, Jeff and Michelle Still, her loving sister, Abigail Still, her maternal grandparents, JoAnn Crowley, Bill and Diane Crowley, her paternal grandparents, Bruce and Terry Still, her Godmother, Shannon Legg, her Godparents, Pete and Lori Musselman, and many aunts and uncles who loved her dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 200 Longwood Dr SE, Huntsville, AL.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children or Huntsville Botanical Garden.
Arrangements are being made by Laughlin Service Funeral Home.
