Mr. William Garner, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in Lexington. He was born September 10, 1937 in Henderson County to the late J. C. and Vera McCormick Garner. He was retired from Johnson Controls and was also a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, and watching Andy Griffith. He was an avid LHS sports fan and a super big St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Rushing (Tim); brother, Aaron Garner (Wilma); sister, Mary Campbell (Larry); sister-in-law, Shirley Garner; two grandchildren, Brandon Rushing and Garrett Rushing (Taylar); and five great grandchildren, Ty Rushing, Chloe Rushing, Rowdy Rushing, Tatum Rushing, and Maverick Rushing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Linda Garner; a brother, Donald Garner; and one grandson, Steven Rushing.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:30 PM, Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Center Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, 1:30 – 2:30 PM at Center Hill Cemetery. (Outdoor visitation, dress accordingly)
