Rev. Robert Emerson Waldrop (Bob) of Decatur, AL. passed away on March 13, 2023 at his home surrounded by those he loved.
He was born in Hollywood, FL on December 25, 1945 to James Harry and Nell Howard Waldrop. He is a graduate of Hueytown High School, Samford University, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a Minister of Music for 56 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Jason Echols.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandy Waldrop, brother, Jim Waldrop (Curtis), daughter, Melody Echols, daughter, Celeste Cook (Jeff), grandchildren, Reagan Echols, Emily Crouch, Dawson Echols, Logan Crouch, step-grandchildren, Kelsey Dement (Seth), Karly Carothers (Nick), Kinley Cook, step-great grandchildren, Natalie Dement, Parker Dement, nieces, Briana Bradford (Randy), Drenna Waldrop, various aunts, uncles, cousin and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Westmeade Baptist Church at 2:00PM. Visitation will be 11:00AM-2:00PM at the church. There will be a private graveside service at a later time.
