Mr. Robert F. Lackey, age 92 of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023.
He is survived by his sisters, Ruth (Jack) Cottis of Hueytown, Opal (Andy) Kepner of Huntsville, Martha Duelene Griggs of Scottsboro, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Lackey, Parents, Dewey and Annie Lackey. Brothers, George Lackey, Dee Lackey, Cecil Lackey and Delbert Lackey. Sisters, Louise Bellomy and Virginia Sanders.
Robert was a veteran of the Korean War where he fought with Alabama National Guard 151st Engineer Combat Battalion Company B. He retired from Mead.
Robert was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 50 years. His church was very important to him. He was a deacon, member of the Choir and Calvary Quartet. He will be remembered as a faithful Man of God. His presence and love will be missed. He left a legacy for all of us to live up to.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Kirk Griggs and Dr. Matt Helms officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
