Eddie Watson Profile Photo Eddie Watson, 59, of Whiteville, passed from this life Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Bolivar General Hospital.

The husband of Keitha Hieneman Watson, who survives, he was a welder, working at Precision in Whiteville for 7 years and also working for Charles Hill Construction, Jimmy Elrod Construction and MTD.  He was born April 11, 1963, in Memphis, son of the late Johnny  Edward Watson, Sr and Mary Olene Whittemore Watson, living most of his life in Haywood and Hardeman Counties.  He was a 1981 graduate of Haywood High School and loved spending time fishing, hunting, raising chickens and building and repairing things around the house.  He was known as a good carpenter and a homebody, loving to be around his grandchildren.  While laid up with a broken leg, he built a flower garden with his granddaughter, Autumn, and loved going to Wal-Mart with Austin to get fishing equipment.  He also enjoyed spending time with his feist dogs, ‘Roy’ and ‘Buck’.    Mr. Watson attended Harmony Baptist at Whiteville in his youth.

Memorial services will be scheduled for a later date.

In addition to his wife, whom he married on October 1, 1993, survivors include a daughter, Mandy Johns of Whiteville; a son, Zachary Phibbs of Troy, OH; three sisters, Sherry McBride and Patricia Paris, both of Whiteville and Melissa Houy of Brownsville; and four grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Hunter Austin Johns, Autumn Denton (Blake), Ian and Ryan Phibbs; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son,  Gustus Lewis Watson and a sister, Linda  Hill.
