Sheila Foster DavisSheila Foster Davis, 76, of Valley Head, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023. She was born October 7, 1946 in Aberdeen, Washington to the late William Estep Foster and Gertrude Simpson Foster. She graduated from Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen, WA in 1964 before furthering her education at business school. On October 14, 1972 she married William Arthur “Bill” Davis, Jr. of Fort Payne, AL. The two of them traveled with the United States Air Force until his retirement in 1986. They then made Valley Head, AL their home. She retired from W.Y. Shugart and Sons Hosiery.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Beagles officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Head Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. hour of service.

She is survived by her husband Bill Davis; children Erica Dukes (Roger) and Bill Davis (Jennifer); grandchildren D’sya Dukes and Liam Dukes, Jayce Davis, Walker Davis, Foster Davis, Joel Decanter, Julie Decanter, and Jayda Decanter; siblings Joanne Chapman (Otis), Mary Haggerty (William), Rena Johnston (late husband Gary), and Helen Barr (James); brother-in-law Tony Hieber; sisters and brothers-in-law Linda Kerby (late husband Alton), Carol Hardeman (Dennis), Janice Shrader (Raymond), Roy Davis (Candie), and Patricia Davis; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Lorna Hieber, brother William Foster, brother-in-law Ricky Davis, and granddaughter Sara Ashlynn Davis.

Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
