It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Joseph David Boyd, 34, announces his passing which occurred on February 14, 2023.
Visitation and funeral service will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 at Hopewell Baptist Church in Hanceville, Alabama. Visitation begins at 11 am followed by the funeral service at 1 pm. Youth Minister Jarrod Jackson and Bro. Howard Wolf, Jr. will officiate. Graveside service to follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
Joseph was a loving and compassionate son, brother, and uncle. He loved people and never met a stranger. He had a generous spirit and loving heart, which he showed to many he helped during his life. He particularly enjoyed working with the youth at Hopewell Baptist Church and getting to know many of the members there.
Joseph is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Brenda Davidson.
Joseph is survived by his parents, David Boyd and his wife Baley, Rene Godfrey and her husband Jimmy; his brother, Jordan Boyd and his wife Kaci; his sisters, Maddox and Macie, stepbrothers Jimmy Godfrey, Jr. and Adam Godfrey; his niece, Delilah, his paternal grandparents, Tom and Linda Boyd, his maternal grandparents, Dr. & Mrs. Rudolph Davidson, his aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
Pallbearers will be Brent Boyd, Robert Garrard, Jimmy Godfrey, Jordan Boyd, Brent Duffner, and Adam Godfrey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Joseph’s memory to Hopewell Baptist Church at 600 Hopewell Dr. NE, Hanceville, AL 35007.
