Funeral for Travis Ray Givens, 76, of Decatur will be Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Joe Holmes and Mike Cothren officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Town Creek. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Givens, who died Sunday, March 10, 2013, was born August 16, 1936, in Town Creek to Travis and Louise Givens. He was retired from Reynolds Metals Company and served in the National Guard. He was a lifelong member of the Baptist church. Mr. Givens was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Otis Mitchell Givens.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Givens; one son, Ricky Givens; one daughter, Treena Givens Piznar; stepsons, Patrick Phillips and Greg Phillips; stepdaughters, Trina Yarbrough and Kim Resso; two sisters, Kay Givens Bentrum and Barbara Givens Swafford; four grand- children, Paige Piznar, Tara Givens, Natalie Piznar and Trevor Givens; and seven stepgrandchildren.
