Betty C. Harrison Sept. 6, 1932 – Jan. 21, 2023 Betty Cowart Harrison, 90, of Decatur, AL was born in Haleyville, AL to Burnett and Louise Cowart. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Lawrence Harrison; son, Lawrence D. Harrison and sister Ann C. Schelder. She is survived by daughters Linda H. Geche (Rick) and Beverly H. Dishman (Michael); twin sister Peggy Schlemmer; daughter-in-law Laura H. Taylor; grandchildren Beverly Doyle, John Harrison, David Harrison, Amanda Millhouse, Rachael Meigs, Matt Ketchum, Cole Ketchum and nine great grandchildren. Betty grew up in Birmingham; finished high School in Upper Montclair New Jersey; and was a graduate of The University of Tennessee. She was a Deacon at Riverchase Baptist Church and a 62 year member of P.E.O. Sisterhood, serving as Alabama State President,1972-1973. Betty found great joy in her family and friends. She will be remembered as a generous person who loved the Lord and shared her faith with everyone she met. A memorial service will be held at Church of The Highlands (Huntsville Campus) Saturday January 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to contribute to Highlands College (Birmingham, AL) or a charity of your choice.
