Mattie L. Wallace, 87, of Leighton, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Bill Cotton officiating.
Ms. Wallace was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Mattie Lovelady and an infant sister, Ruby Lovelady.
She was survived by three sons, Dwight Morgan (Becky), William “Red” Roberts and Buddy Wallace (Lilly); two daughters, Carolyn Hale and Patsy Johnson (Steve); sister, Faye Gargis; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Meals on Wheels.
The family would also like to give a special thanks to the staff of Cottage of the Shoals and to Sandy Willis who cared for Mattie.
