HAZEL GREEN-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a traffic death from an accident that occurred on January 10. The victim was involved in a two-vehicle accident and died from injuries on January 17:
“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, has claimed the life of a Hazel Green man.
Coty S. Blackburn, 22, was critically injured when the 1994 Honda CBR-600 motorcycle that he was operating struck a 2010 Ford Edge driven by Ursula S. Berngruber, 67, of Fayetteville, TN. Blackburn was transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. On Tuesday, January 17, Blackburn succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased while at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital (UAB).
The crash occurred on U.S. 231 near Walls Drive, approximately three miles north of Hazel Green, in Madison County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
