Martha “Peasy” Christopher, 88 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, at her residence. Mrs. Christopher was born on October 9th, 1934, in Limestone County, to David and Marcena Allen Bates.
Mrs. Christopher is survived by her husband of 70 years, Fred E. Christopher, Jr.; children Ricky Christopher (Frances), Tony Christopher (Dana), Dale Christopher (Dawna), and Robin Christopher (Angie); 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and brother Lenzy Bates (Carol).
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Hubert Bates, Homer Bates, and Patsy Bates; and sister Bet Ursery.
A graveside service for Mrs. Christopher will be Friday, January 20th, 2023, at 2:00pm at Roselawn Cemetery, with Dusty McLemore officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00-1:30pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Brad King, Ken Lumpkin, Scottie Taylor, Robert Orfield, Hunter Taylor, Billy Warden, Jared Pate, and T.J. Christopher.
Mrs. Christopher dearly loved all of her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requestions donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
