Johnny Samuel Conkle Johnny Samuel Conkle, 75, of the Tuckers Chapel community, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023 at his home. He was born in Fort Payne on February 17, 1947 to the late Joe and Era Watts Conkle. Mr. Conkle served in the United States Army and retired from Goodyear. He never met a stranger – and after you met him, you knew you had met a special friend.

Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, January 14th at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Dan Clanton officiating. Burial will follow in Tuckers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until the 12 noon hour of service.

He is survived by his daughter Sandy Goodwin and husband Jamey; step-daughter Becky Fugatt and husband Van; grandchildren Austin Goodwin, Madison Goodwin Grimes and husband Preston, Kyle Fugatt and Conner Edmondson; brothers Wayne Conkle and Ezell Conkle; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Conkle; step-son Jeff Edmondson; brothers R. L. and LeDon Conkle; and sisters Verna Walker, RuthAnn Conkle, and MaryLou Hopkins.

Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
