Irene D. Brooks Cross, age 91, of Dora passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023 at her residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 9, 2023 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial at New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Wayne Ferguson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Morgan Whitfield and Lucille Brooks; husband, Plato Bingham Cross; and several sisters and brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Diana C. Houk (Ben); granddaughters, Melissa Smith (Michael) and Michell Brooke Cofer (Kenneth); great grandchildren, Tyler Smith (Crimson), Connor Smith, Matthew Cofer and Catelyn Cofer; great-great granddaughter, Delilah Faye Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
