Mr. Gary David Balch, of Arab, Alabama, passed away at UAB hospital in Birmingham on January 1, 2023 at the age of 51.
Mr. Balch was born on October 30, 1971 to David Alden Balch and Brenda Carol White. He was raised in Morgan City, Alabama and had a love of hunting and fishing. After living in Atlanta, Georgia and in Houston, Texas, Mr. Balch settled in Arab, and worked in mechanical maintenance in Pell City. In his free time, he would hunt many game animals including deer, hogs, geese, and duck. He also enjoyed fishing, both fresh and salt water. When he wasn’t in the woods, or on the water, he enjoyed watching Alabama football.
Mr. Balch leaves memories behind to be cherished by his father; David Balch, sister; Terri Dewald, and her husband Richard, and niece; Ayla Dewald.
Mr. Balch is preceded in death by his mother; Brenda White Balch.
A visitation with the family is scheduled for Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Mr. Balch will lie in state at Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Services, officiated by Brother Tim Patrick and Brother Rusty Wilkerson, will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church Cemetery.
