Floretta Lowry, age 96, of Leighton, AL, passed away Monday, March, 5, 2013 after a long term illness. Visitation will be Friday, 6-8 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will be Saturday, 2 p.m. at Harmony Free Will Baptist Church with Ralph Coleman officiating. Her body will be placed in the church sanctuary at 1 p.m. to lie in state. Burial will be in Poplar Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Lowry was a Colbert County native and has recently resided at the Cottage of the Shoals Nursing Home. She was a life-long member of Harmony Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lowry and daughter, Retha Lowry Kidd.
Survivors include her son, Arthur Dwight Lowry (Linda), son-in-law, Billy Kidd; grandchildren, Susan K. Hannah (Ricky), William Kidd (Faith), Keith Lowry (Loria) and Karen Beasley (Michael), five great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.
Pallbearers are William Kidd, Keith Lowry, Rickey Hannah, Michael Beasley, Josh Smithey and Blake Baird.
