Dorothy Jean Garrett, age 75 of Winchester, TN, died December 11, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Bell Acres. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and beloved dog and companion “Alfie”. Jean was born July 8, 1947 in Franklin County to the late Ben and Hazel Reynolds. After she graduated from Franklin County High School, Jean married William James Garrett and they were happily married for fifty-nine years. She worked at the National Store in Winchester as a bookkeeper, and she also worked for Doctors Lia and Walter Boyanton at their family medical practice in Estill Springs. Jean cherished the time spent with family on holidays and special occasions. She was a Christian and member of Crossroads Baptist Church at the time of her passing. Jean is survived by her husband, William James Garrett; daughter, Jan Kelley and her spouse, W. David Kelley; sister, Linda Little and her spouse, Harvey Little; niece, Teena Waggoner and her spouse, Chuck Waggoner; nephews, Drew Waggoner, and Matt Waggoner; sister-in-law, Frances Champion and her family; brother-in-law, Wayne Garrett and his family; and special friend, Estelle Burklin. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Maydell Garrett and her spouse, William Garrett. Thank-you Jean for your kindness, devotion, and selflessness to your family and friends. Thank you for the memories we have of you. They are our treasures. We love you with all of our being and wish you were still here with us. Our lives will never be the same again without you and the remainder of our days will be spent cherishing the precious memories of you. Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 1pm in the chapel of Moore-Cortner.
