Jerry Moreland Sr. Master Sergeant (Retired) Jerry Don Moreland Sr left this earthly world and went to be with his Lord in Heaven on December 6, 2022. Jerry was born October 7, 1937, to the late JC Moreland and Alice Stevison Moreland in Cleveland, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife Rebecca (Becky) Johnson Moreland, sister Shirley Moreland McLemore, brother Ronald Moreland (Charlotte) three children Debra Moreland Cox, Ed Moreland (Sharon) and Jerry Moreland Jr. (Cindy). He had 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great-grandson, several nieces, and nephews. He was a member of Madisonville First Baptist Church where he was a greeter. His smile lit up the room and made everyone feel welcome.

On August 7, 1956, Jerry married the love of his life, Rebecca Johnson (Becky). Married 67 years. In 1956 Jerry joined the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years in 1976 and was in the Air Force Ready Reserves for another 10 years. He served in several overseas deployments and during war time. During his enlistment he was awarded numerous honors and medals. He enjoyed attending Veterans Day celebrations and felt it was important to stay connected with other veterans. After retiring from the military, Jerry and Becky ventured into a second career, co-owning Mill Direct Carpets in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Jerry’s hobbies included gardening, traveling with Becky in their RV, cruising all over the world, photography, ancestry research, TN Vols football, fishing and cooking the best fried catfish.

A Celebration of Life will be announced and held in the spring of 2023. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers please make donations to Paralyzed Disable Veterans of America. Phone 800-555-9140.
