Mary J. Kennedy Eaton, 94, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Tishomingo Manor. She was a loving mother and the devoted wife of Troy H. Eaton for 72 years, until his passing four years ago. She loved gardening, quilting and cooking but most of all, the time spent with her family. She cherished her family dearly and always loved sitting them down to her fried chicken, chocolate cake and fried pies. Her heart held a special place for little children and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, Ms. with Bro. Doug Thornburg and Bro. Mark Daily officiating. Burial will be in Joel Cemetery, Dennis, Ms. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are four children – J.T. Eaton (Lillie), Roy Eaton (Cathy), Larry Eaton (Marion) and Barbara Blunt (Phillip) all of Dennis, Ms.; ten grandchildren – Debbie Ferguson, Jamie Eaton, Ron Eaton, Brandon Eaton, Eric Eaton, Jeff Eaton, Jennifer Eaton, Lisa Lovelace, Tim Blunt and Mark Blunt; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother – Claude Kennedy (Linda) Booneville, Ms. and two sisters-in-law – Syvilla Henry, South Pasedena, Ca. and Francis Kennedy, Dennis, Ms.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy H. Eaton, her parents, James & Francis Kennedy; four sisters, Violet Turner, Effie Kennedy, Jewel Eaton Millstead and Audrey Ables and one brother, Warren Kennedy.
Pallbearers will be grandsons – Jamie Eaton, Jeff Eaton, Brandon Eaton, Tim Blunt, Mark Blunt and Jordan Blunt.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at Deaton Funeral Home and 8 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
