Michael D. Hayes, 59, died November 28, 2022. He was born December 5, 1962, and always looked forward to his birthday party.
Mike loved to be on the go and as the old saying goes “didn’t let any grass grow under his feet”. He never met a stranger and wherever he went was always a meet and greet. He would reach out for a handshake and say “I’m Michael Hayes. What’s your name?”
He loved Alabama football, Atlanta Braves, going bowling and playing softball. His very large collection of CD music was legendary among his friends and staff at the Arc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Hays and Colleen Winsted, and niece, Jennifer Berryman. Michael is survived by sister, Linda Whitten (David); brother, Gary Hayes (Jane); nephew, Dale Berryman; and niece, Molly Fountain (Matthew).
Michael was laid to rest at Harris Chapel Cemetery in Cherokee, AL. His loving spirit will be greatly missed.
