Rev. Richard Alan Morgan Jr, age 54 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. He was born in Decatur, Alabama on May 31, 1968, to Richard Alan and Carolyn Sue (Hill) Morgan Sr. Richard was a devoted Christian, exhibiting his love of God through his life’s work. He was known as the “Barefoot Pastor,” and had worked as a youth minister in Tullahoma, Florence, Alabama, and Cookeville before pastoring the Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church for the last eight years. His loving personality and servant’s heart were apparent through his ministry. A loving son, brother, husband, and father, Richard loved his friends and family as if they were the only ones in the world. In his spare time, he was an avid Alabama fan and enjoyed trivia. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arnold Richard Morgan, and John R. and Callie Hill. Richard is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Heather Thompson Morgan; children, Rebecca Ashley, Richard Ethan, Sarah LeighAnn, and Karolyn Ivy; grandchildren, Alexis Paige, and Kaliyah Skye; parents, Alan and Carolyn Morgan; grandmother, Marie Morgan; brother, John “Gannon” (Jennifer) Morgan; mother-in-law, Sarah Thompson; two nieces; six nephews; several aunts and uncles; and many other friends and family members. Visitation is from 11am-1pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church with funeral services following at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Richard Morgan Benefit Account at Citizens Community Bank or to the ministry of your choice.
