Raymond Hollis Anders, 81, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday.
Ray was born in Crigler, Arkansas. He married Carolyn Speir on May 2, 1964 in Furman, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University in 1967. He and Carolyn moved to Huntsville where he worked for Thiokol, SCI, GTE, and Chrysler. He started a business in his garage repairing marine electronics, and eventually started his own company, Rapair Inc. in February 1983. He hired many people with special needs. He retired and sold the business in February 2007. His intelligence, strong work ethic, and determination, along with a quick wit and the love of God and people, Ray made a wonderful life for his family. His employees were even treated to a company beach trip every year. Out of all of his accomplishments, his love, kindness, and compassion for people surpassed them all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marlin Hollis Anders, and his mother, Beulah Marie Jennings. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 and a half years, Carolyn Anders; son, Scott Anders (Stacey); daughter, Amy Heflin (Tony); 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, who loved their Pop dearly; sister, Sherry Aquino (Tom).
The visitation will be from 12-2 PM Saturday, November 5th, 2022, with a celebration of life following, at 2 PM at Sherwood Baptist Church, 6600 Old Madison Pike NW, Huntsville, AL 35806. Entombment will follow at Faith Memorial Park on Madison Blvd.
