Hugh Wright, 98, passed away peacefully in his residence at Fleming Farms on October 15, 2022.
Mr. Wright was a proud veteran of WWII. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Strive. In 1955 he and his family moved to Huntsville and he retired from the Army Missile Command in 1975.
Mr. Wright was of the Baptist faith and served as Deacon among other capacities.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Merle Joy after a beautiful marriage of 36 years. They enjoyed their cabin on the Elk River and their farm in Tennessee.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Pamela Selles (Don), his son Charles, his adored grandson, Bland Morris, and grandaughter Lorie Denton, and three great grandchildren and his special friend for 25 years, Nancy Watkins.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Maple Hill Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
