Martha Jane McGee Pratt, 97, of Dothan, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
Martha was a member of First Baptist Church in Huntsville. In Martha’s free time, she enjoyed sewing, reading, doing puzzles, and gardening. She was an avid Alabama football fan. Martha worked for the County Commission office in Huntsville as the accounting clerk for more than 20 years. She also volunteered with the Red Cross for 10 years and was the house parent for the High School boys at the Talladega School for Deaf. Martha spent lots of her time helping others.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lelia and Jesse McGee; brothers, Billy McGee (Juanita), Charles McGee, Kenneth McGee (Joyce), and Harold McGee; her son, Robert Leroy Pratt Jr.; grandson, Jason Link; and sons-in-law, Mike Warg, Jerome McKenzie, and Jim Link.
Martha leaves behind her daughters, Janice Pratt Saylor (Joe), Diana P. Link, and Mary P. McKenzie; niece, Jessica Holt (Wally); grandchildren, Eric Warg (Denise), Kim Warg, Josh Link (Laura), and Jeremy Link (Jennifer); and her great grandchildren, Caleb Warg (Meghan), Sara Warg Langford (Justin), Caleb Link, Jake Link, Jaylee Link, and Jaret Link.
The family would like to give a special thank you and show their appreciation for the nurses at Kindred Hospice in Dothan, Alabama.
Visitation will take place on Monday, October 17 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with an 11 a.m. funeral service. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery in Gadsden, Alabama.
