Shayla Rae Henry, 31 of Huntsville passed away Monday, October 10, 2022, at her residence. Shayla was born January 9, 1991, in Arab the daughter of Timothy Grace and Sonya Henry Grace. She was a member of the Ryan Baptist Church. She was a 2009 graduate of Arab High School and received her Education Degree from Athens State University. She was currently teaching Special Education at the Meridianville Middle School. She was also employed at the Von Braun Center, working a variety of events. She had a love for sports and especially enjoyed working at the hockey games. Thru out her career of teaching, if an opportunity was ever available for assisting with coaching sporting events, she was always willing to assist.
She is survived by her parents: Tim and Sonya Grace; grandfather: Lelton Grace; uncles: Daryl Grace (Amanda) and Robert “Bubba” Henry; cousins: Brandon Henry, Heather Grace, Garrett Grace, Anna Leigh Chastain and Maggie Chastain; God-grandmother: Gayle Morgan; host of other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by a brother: Jake Grace, grandparents: Laverne Grace, Ray Henry and Judy Henry.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Brother Terry Hudson and Brother Michael King officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers: Garrett Grace, Daryl Grace, Brandon Henry, Robert Henry, Jacob Leak and Hanson McBay.
