Carolyn K. Rea, 86, Sheffield, faded away Feb. 24, 2013. She was born on April 25, 1926, in Russellville, Ala. to Charles C. and Elizabeth Smith Kindig, who preceded her in death. She was married to William H. Rea, who died in 1997.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 2, from 11-noon at Colbert Memorial Chapel of the Shoals followed by a memorial service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Rea was a sweet Christian woman. She belonged to Chief Colbert Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Tennessee Art Association and Colbert County Chapter University of Alabama Alumni.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Rea, of Sheffield; two sons, William “Bill” Walton Rea and wife, Roxanne, of Atlanta, Ga., and Charles “Bucky” Anderson Rea and wife, Pam, of Russellville; four grandchildren, Erin Eastep McGee and husband, Gavin, Jess Eastep and wife, Lori, Laura Rea Hill, Ashley Rea Flippo and husband, Steven; five great-grandchildren, Blakely McGee, Channing McGee, Brennan Eastep, Madalynn Hill and Elizabeth Flippo.
