Jereal Yates, Sr., 76 of Dora, passed away Wednesday September 28, 22 at his residence. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, who will be dearly missed. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp and the U. S. Army. He was an avid Alabama football fan.
Funeral services will be Saturday Oct. 1, 22 at 10:00 am in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Dora. Visitation is Friday night 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolyn Yates Phillips; parents, Charles V. Yates, Jr and Pauline Yates; brothers, Jerry, Jimmy and Joel Yates and sister, Carline Watts.
Survivors include his wife of 49 ½ years, Brenda Lee Yates; children, Martha Curtis (Ricky), Veronica Norris (Mark), Jacqueline Yates (Derrek Heath), Gail McDonald (Wesley), Theresa Cooper (Scott), Lisa Hyde (Jeremy) and Jereal Yates, Jr.; 29 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; sister, Charlene Yates; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
