Funeral services for Mr. Calvin Whitley, age 68 of Ashland, will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Carmel Christian Church with Pastor Randy Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Whitley passed away at his residence on Saturday 24, 2022. He was born in Kissimmee, FL but lived most of his life in Clay County. He loved hunting, collecting various cutlery and was an avid golf fan. He was employed by Tru Cabinets for 25 years before retiring. Mr. Whitley was an active member and deacon of Mt. Carmel Christian Church.
Mr. Whitley is survived by the love of his life Lois Whitley of 47 years; one son Tony Whitley (Stefanie) of Wedowee; one daughter Miracle Vickers (David) of Alexander City; four grandchildren Creek and Wyatt Whitley and Andrew and Luke Vickers; three sisters, Linda Campbell of Ashland, Liz Anderson of Ashland and Susie Jenkins (Mark) of Lineville, three brothers: Walter Lindsey, Harold Lindsey, and Jack Lindsey, all of Anniston; and a host of niece’s and nephew’s and extended family.
Mr. Whitley was preceded in death by his mother Eunice Mae Hull Craven; father Howard Sylvester Whitley and one sister Alice Nix.
Pallbearers will be, Andrew Vickers, Luke Vickers, Creek Whitley, Wyatt Whitley, Jackson Craven, Schyler Forman. Honorary
Pallbearer will be Harvey Phillips.
The family will receive friends at Mt. Carmel Christian Church on Tuesday September 27, 2022 from 1-2 P.M.
Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville will be in charge of the arrangements.
