Edna Wheeler, 94, departed this life for her life in eternity from Avon Lea Retirement Center where she had resided the last few years. Edna, a longtime Church, civic and community leader in Verona, was the widow of the late Billy Fred Wheeler, Verona’s Mayor for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Ligon and son, Phil Wheeler all of Verona.
Services are tentatively set for 2:30 PM Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors with burial to follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11:00-2:30 on Wednesday, all at Holland Funeral Directors.
