Sylvia Rector Brown, 81 of Dora, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 21, 2022.
Sylvia graduated from Minor High School in 1959. She retired from Alabama Power Co. in 1997.
Some of her most beautiful attributes, were that she “was never judgmental and always forgiving”. “She had a heart full of love and grace.”
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Shuler Charles Brown; parents, Andrew and Lillian Rector; sisters, Doris Burton and Verna Higgins; brother, Robert Rector and a special niece, Kathy Chapple.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Brown and Celeste Brown; grandson, Benjamin Shuler Statum; special nephew, Joseph D. Burton; special friend, Barbara Noe; special son, David Jolley and several nieces and nephews. “She loved them all!!”
Funeral services will be Wednesday Aug. 24, 22 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Wednesday from 1-2 pm.
