James Donald Farris, age 79 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems- Winchester. He was born in Winchester on November 09, 1942 to the late Nathan and Elsie (Coker)Farris. James was a bridge inspector for the State of Tennessee and retired in 2004. He enjoyed walking and riding the trails on Sewanee Mountain. He liked to spend most of his time with his beloved dog, Jan and visiting with family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and brother. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Buckner; and siblings, Jerry Wayne Farris, and Sandra Kay Judkins. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Brenda Farris; son, Michael Farris, and sister, Rita (Kenneth) Farris. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 1pm-3pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 3pm in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Gregory and Bro. Leon Williams officiating. Interment will be held at Mt. Garner Cemetery with Tyrone Vanzant, DeWayne Green, Troy Huber, Kevin Farris, Keith Farris, Jonathan Moore, Tyler Crownover, and Eric Wood serving as pallbearers.
