Vera VanLandingham

Vera VanLandingham was born in Madison, Wisconsin to Dr. and Mrs. R. J. Colbert. She remained in Madison attending University High School and graduating from the University of Wisconsin. She was a member of Alpha XI Delta Sorority. After graduation she married Dr. A. B. Wiles. They moved to Starkville in 1950. In 1953 they had their daughter Lynn. Vera and Fred were married for 47 years before he died of cancer. She was a member of the MSU Women’s Club, and Starkville Woman’s Club and several bridge clubs.

In 2000 she married J. B. VanLandingham. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sherrie VanLandingham of Starkville, MS; daughter Vera Lynn Wiles of Greenville, SC; daughter Linda Eggbeer of Arnold, MD; daughter Martha VanLandingham of Starkville, MS, and eight grandchildren, Lucia Wiles Medley, Christie VanLandingham, Steve VanLandingham, Stuart Barr, William Eggbeer, John Eggbeer, Carolina Robinson, Daniela Messerian and twelve great grandchildren.

Vera was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. The Memorial Service and Inurnment will be at the church on Friday, August 19, 2022. Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm.
