Marie Trapp Holdbrooks Alice “Marie” Trapp Holdbrooks was born on October 16, 1928 to William “Bill” Trapp and Verna Winkles Trapp of Trapptown, AL.

Marie graduated from Phil Campbell High School in 1944. She was a resident of the Pebble Community where she and her husband raised three children. She was a member of Maxwell Chapel United Methodist Church.

Marie was well known as a talented and giving mother and friend to many. From her creative garments and décor to her delicious homemade recipes, she continually blessed those around her. Often expressed, she was evermore thankful for her blessings in life.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Wynn Holdbrooks, daughter Judy Kay Holdbrooks Parker, sisters Betty Jo Trapp Holdbrooks, Billie Jean Trapp Morgan and Shirley Trapp, and brother Tommy “Tucker” Trapp.

She is survived by her brother Charles Edward Trapp (LaVaga) of Muscle Shoals, AL; two sons William Thomas Holdbrooks (Regina), of Houston, AL and Wyman Mitchell Holdbrooks (Fancy) of Haleyville, AL; three grandchildren, Mitchell Ryan Holdbrooks (Katrina) of Harvest, AL, Jill Holdbrooks Perry (Brian) and Amanda Holdbrooks Yearwood (Heith) both of Cullman, AL; four great-grandchildren Blake, Brett, Bailee, and Aaron.

Her beautiful memory will be forever cherished in the lives of her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00pm on Tuesday August 9, 2022 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville. The funeral service will be at 2:00pm in the chapel, with Pastor Wannell Scott and Pastor Mac Buttram officiating. Burial to follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
