Claude “Bulldog” Thompson, age 88, of Lebanon, passed away on July 14, 2022. The Funeral Service, conducted by Paul Hancock, is 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Interment in Wilson County Memorial will follow the service. Pallbearers: Aaron Thompson, Nathan Thompson, Chase Thompson, Joseph Garcia, Brandon Thompson, Cole Curtis, Franklin Thompson, and Jonathan Thompson. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home on Monday, 4-8 p.m., and on Tuesday, 12 p.m. until the service at 2 p.m.
Claude Drennon Thompson was born in Lebanon TN to Mable Drennon and Deedy Thompson. He graduated high school, married Mary Hube, and enlisted in the United States Air Force. After his service, he worked as a Civil Engineer for Gresham and Smith. He enjoyed live music and dancing. “Bulldog” Thompson was the coach for Little League youth baseball for more than fifteen years.
Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Hube Thompson, grandson Jason Morse, parents Mable and Deedy Thompson, and siblings Joe Thompson and Sylvia Thompson. He is survived by children: Claude “Donnell” (Wanda) Thompson, LeeAnn Crosslin, Tommy (Kim) Thompson, Bobby (Lisa) Thompson, Alene (Ruther Polyte) Gibson, and Jack (Phyllis) Thompson; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister: Jane Bull; and numerous nieces and nephews.
