Thomas Wayne Smith, 85 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Smith was born on June 17th, 1937, to Alvie and Zelpha Ruth Tribble Smith.
Mr. Smith is survived by his son Greg Smith (Tammy) of Athens; grandchild Lauren Askew (Palmer) of Loxley, AL; great-grandchildren Allie, Norah, and Lucy; brother Alvie Smith of Athens; and sister Martha Tyler (Bobby) of Athens.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife Barbara Ann Smith; and sisters Naomi Walker and Betty Lewis.
A graveside service for Mr. Smith will be Friday, July 15th, 2022, at 1:00pm at Limestone Memorial Gardens, with Tony Boyles officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00am-12:30pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Pat Preston, Brad Baugher, Bobby Joe Balch, Glenn Sides, Buddy Harbin, and Roger Sanderson.
