Awake
Shade dreams from your hair
My pretty child, my sweet one,
Choose the day and choose the sign of your day
The day’s divinity
First thing you see.
A vast radiant beach in a cool jeweled moon
Couples naked race down by its quiet side
And we laugh like soft, mad children
Smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy
The music and voices are all around us.
Choose they croon the Ancient Ones
The time has come again
Choose now, they croon
Beneath the moon
Beside an ancient lake.
Enter again the sweet forest
Enter the hot dream
Come with us
Everything is broken up and dances.
Song by Jim Morrison and the Doors.
Our brother, Richard Anthony “Twan” Davis, age 42, of Russellville, transitioned from his earthly form on Wednesday night, June 22, 2022. I know our mother, Papaw, our Lord, and a host of loved ones were waiting with open arms to welcome him to his mansion on the streets of gold.
He was a father, brother, uncle, brother/cuzzo, grandson, and a friend to a multitude of loved ones. To know Antwan was to love him. He had a special spirit and soul that will continue in his memory.
He leaves behind, his beloved children, daughter, Sienna Rayne Davis; son, Sammy Lee Davis; sisters, Nicole Aday (Shane) and Lisa Brown (Glenn); grandmother, Nell Seal; brother/cuzzo, Danny Lee Patterson, Jr. and Shane Patterson; uncle, Danny Lee Patterson, Jr., uncle, Kevin Patterson (Amy); nieces and nephews, Jackson Anthony Scott, Mason Adams, Ivy & Connor Patterson, Nathan Atkins, Will Atkins (Lexie), Ashelynne Atkins (Corey), and Katelynne Atkins (Jon) .
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date by the family.
