Faye Weaver Solomon, age 87 of Decherd, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Elk River Health and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Decherd on December 28, 1934, to the late Alvin and Clara (Young) Weaver. Before her retirement, Faye was employed at Lanier for forty years. In her younger years, she enjoyed cane jumping and being involved in 4-H Farmers and Homemakers Clubs. In her spare time, she could be found fishing, sewing, and gardening. She was a lover of music, enjoying all genres, and traveling everywhere, including Mexico and Jamaica. Her family will lovingly recall her kind and loving spirit and wonderful sense of humor. Faye was a lifelong member of Decherd Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Solomon; son, Michael Solomon; and sister, Doris Hopkins. Faye is survived by her loving daughter, Amanda Bailey of Sewanee; grandson, Jack Solomon Bailey of Sewanee; sister, Peggy (Don) Gipson of Decherd; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10 am -12 pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Dr. Michael Bradley officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Garner Cemetery with Gary Hopkins, Mickey Gipson, Tony Gipson, Grant Gipson, Lyle Sissom, and Robert Wingo serving as pallbearers.
