Amy Elizabeth Kirksey Bowman
Jan 15, 1975 – May 24, 2022
Elizabeth was healed as she entered heaven on May 24th. She fought a brave fight on her own terms against cancer.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 25 years, Donald, her son Chase Bowden (Becca) and granddaughter Lily, daughter Aaliyah Wilbanks (Shane) and granddaughter Brooklyn and her parents Keith and Lynn Kirksey.
Elizabeth was a faithful and active member of Church of the Highlands in Madison. Her service to God’s work was exemplary. Her generosity was inspirational. Her love for her family was beyond words.
Elizabeth received her love for others, her compassion for those less fortunate, and her contagious love for God through her daily study of God’s word. Through her studies and prayers she was able to know the heart of God. She was truly an inspiration.
Elizabeth was also humble. She would rather this obituary be all about Jesus. She didn’t even want us to talk about her at her own funeral, which is impossible for those of us who loved her so very much. She just wanted us to give all glory to God and our Lord Jesus. And we do give all glory to God for letting us have her for 47 years.
A celebration of life will be held at Berryhill Funeral Home Saturday, May 28th with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and a service at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, Elizabeth requested donations be made to the “Generosity” fund at Church of the Highlands in Madison.
Death is just a journey into resurrection life!
