Dwight Harwell, age 76 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. He was born in Pulaski on August 19, 1945, to the late Rally and Alease (Commons) Harwell. Dwight was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Cubic Precision after thirty years of employment before working for three years at Bridgestone and permanently retiring from World Finance after thirteen years. Dwight enjoyed studying history and enjoyed watching the History Channel, and he also enjoyed spending time on the lake boating. He was an avid University of Tennessee Football fan. Dwight loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and cherished the time spent with each of them. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Estill Springs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Douglas Harwell; brother, Bobby Harwell; stepson, Gary Taylor; grandson, Garrett Eakes; and mother-in-law, Glada Bloom. Dwight is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Joyce Harwell; children, Kala (Steve Honea) Harwell, Ginger Harwell, and Patrick Harwell; stepdaughter, Christie Taylor; grandchildren, Katelyn (Cody) Allen, Cameron Harwell, Kiley Harwell, Rebekah Harwell, and Ashlee (Zach) Conkey; great-grandchildren, Cash Presley, Hank Allen, and Everlee Conkey; siblings, Martha Lynn O’Neal, Mary Jo Owens, and Phillip Harwell; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. David Cunningham officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens with military honors bestowed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Moore-Cortner Funeral Home to assist with burial expenses.
