Charlotte Gambill, 71, of Madison, passed away Saturday.

Born in Ft. Worth, TX, Charlotte moved to Huntsville with her parents when her father came to work at Redstone Arsenal. Charlotte’s parents were instrumental in founding The Arc of Madison County for children and adults with disabilities. Charlotte loved to travel and had a love of animals. She enjoyed visiting local animal adoption centers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Moizelle Gambill. Survivors include her cousins, Mikki Ellis and Millis Finnegan. She leaves to cherish her memory her chosen family, Brenda Elliott and Joyce Rider, and many special friends at Ability Plus, including Cathy Miller and Cheryl Jessup.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with burial following in Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ability Plus, 100 Jetplex Blvd., Huntsville, AL 35824.
