Hugh Daniel Osborn – Obituary

Hugh Daniel Osborn age 84 of Athens, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Osborn was born August 1, 1928 in Tipton, Iowa to Admiral Osborn and Myrtle Turner.

Services for Mr. Osborn are Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Sardis Springs Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. He will lie-in-state from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be at Sardis Springs Church Cemetery with Tim Keenum officiating.

He was a member of Sardis Spring Baptist Church. He was retired from the military serving time in the 82nd and 101st Airborne and the Army Missile Command. He taught school and was a Vocational Education Teacher at Austin High School in Decatur. He was a member of the Alabama Cattleman’s Association and the Red Angus Association of America.

He is survived by his son, Danny Osborn and wife Kim of Athens; daughters, Susan Ford and husband George of Athens and Dianna Osborn and partner Angie Foley of Athens; brothers, Frank Osborn and Burt Osborn of Iowa; sisters, Pat McQuillen and Honey Lou Smith of Iowa; niece, Sandy Osborn of Iowa; grandchildren, George D. Ford, James Ford, Brandy Holland, Michael Osborn, Brooke Swift, Tyler Daron, Kyler Shelton, Kaitlin Shelton and Christy Price; 8 Great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are James Ford, George Ford, Michael Osborn, Kyler Shelton, Tyler Daron, Ray Holland and Cody Swift.
