Sarah Jean Hill Gipson passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, April 29, 2022. She was born on May 13, 1932, to the late Mattie and John Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl, Louis, and J.T. Hill; sisters, Aline Gipson, and Ethel Kirk; and two half-siblings, Addie, and Jamie Hill. Sarah was married to the late Paul Gipson for forty-three years. She is survived by one son, Bobby (Vonna) Gipson; two grandchildren, Scott Gipson of Decherd, and Kim (Charles) Housch of Shelbyville; great-granddaughters, Anna (Austin) Sanders and Sarah Margaret Housch (Michael). She was a member of Wilder’s Chapel CMC. She was a caregiver for the past thirty years along with Cuba Finney. Sarah lived life to the fullest for almost ninety years. She enjoyed traveling on bus tours and cruises with her traveling buddy, Annie Sue Sherrill. They both could be found on Friday nights line dancing with their Senior Group, truly enjoying every moment they were given. Visitation will be from 10am-2pm on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Freddie Harris and Bro. Larry Campbell officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Bro. Larry Stephens officiating and Scott Gipson, Charles Housch, Josh Kelly, Austin Sanders, Jared Hill, and Richard Henley serving as pallbearers.
