Dorothy Sue Ellis, 95, passed away at Church Street Manor Assisted Living Center in Ecru on Thursday, April 21, 2022. She was born June 9, 1926, in Cherry, Tennessee, the daughter of Wesley D. and Lillie Hopper Ray. Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death on March 8, 2016, by her husband of sixty four years, Clarence Waymon Ellis. She was a member of Ecru Baptist Church and had been a bookkeeper during her working career. Her hobbies included gardening and sewing.
Survivors are one son, Charlie Ellis and his wife, Tammy, of Olive Branch; two daughters, Becky Tutor and her husband, Jerry, of New Albany and Amy Wooten and her husband, Roy, of Senatobia; two sisters, Katherine Ping of Bryon, Ohio, and Nancy Ray of Troy Tennessee, three grandchildren, Jordan Tutor, Jared Tutor, and Rachael Prust; and four great-grandchildren, Anna Tutor, Jackson Tutor, Jamison Tutor, and Hattie Mae Prust.
Funeral services will be held at Glenfield Funeral Home on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at 2:00 P. M. with Gary Walker, officiating. Visitation will held on Sunday from 11:00 A. M. until service time. Interment will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 11:00 A. M. at West Tennessee State Military Cemetery in Memphis.
