Frieda Maxene Grogan, age 77 of Moore County, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Vanderbilt-Harton Medical Center. A native of Moore County, she was born on October 9, 1944, to the late Lem and Ophelia (Edgeman) Cunningham. Before her retirement, she had been employed by Mid-State Vending. Freida enjoyed reading, singing, and square dancing. She was passionate about genealogy and history and used her knowledge of history to help as a volunteer at the Moore County Archives as well as locating and restoring old cemeteries. But most of all, she cherished the time with her beloved family and enjoyed hosting them all for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter dinners. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Melody Grogan; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Murray. Frieda is survived by her loving and devoted husband of fifty-seven years, William Grogan; children, Angie (Tim) Kennemer, and Justin (Kelly) Grogan; granddaughters, Meacy (James) Russell, Autumn (Cody) Cashion, Abby Grogan, and Katie Kennemer; great-granddaughters, Everlee and Emma Cashion; siblings, Geneva Murray, Helen (Jimmy) Neese, and Kenneth (Linda) Cunningham; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2-4pm on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Funeral Services will follow at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Awalt officiating. Interment will be at Head of Hurricane Cemetery.
