Robert “Bob” W. Bucklin, 82, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. He passed at his home after his very courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Killarney, West Virginia, the son of Glenn and Hazel Bucklin. He graduated from Shady Springs High School and attended West Virginia University before joining the Air Force and serving 7 years working on B52 Bomber planes. Upon his military discharge, he was employed by Tektronix, Inc. for 28 years until his retirement in 1996. He and his wife, Robin, enjoyed traveling throughout the US in their recreational vehicles for over 20 years.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Hazel Bucklin of Daniels, WV, and his brother Randall Bucklin of Springfield, VA. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Robin Bucklin, his children, Michael Bucklin (Kandy), Carol Atchley (Keith), and Jason Alley (Deborah); grandchildren, Mick Atchley, Alexandra Atchley, and Jayla Alley; additional grandchildren from a blended family, brothers Burnice Bucklin and Tom Bucklin; sisters Phyllis Davis and Carolyn Mullins. He was the beloved master of three rescue dogs.
To know him was to know he never complained, he had a way with casual jokes that would always make you laugh, and he loved his family, who returned that special love. He will be greatly missed.
Memorial donations can be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association or a valued animal rescue organization.
Burial will be at a later date at Alabama National Cemetery.
